-SHOPPING-
As part of my cousins birthday gift, I am getting her this dress from Aritzia today. She is going to Rome and Paris next month and so the theme of her gifts revolve around that trip. Isn't that such a cute dress to frolic around the streets of Paris in?

Also, I just bought a new dress from Sandro. Will share on Monday!

-FOOD-
One of my favorite food blogs: 'The Kitchy Kitchen' posted this recipe for Coconut Ice & Toasted Coconut Vanilla Limeade. Doesn't this look refreshingly tasty?

Beautiful Things Pinboard

...{Things that remind me of taking a vacation in the summer}
Source: Tumblr
I love Toronto, but there are just some days I wish I was in NYC, Vegas, Montreal or Paris. I don't necessarily need to take long drawn out trips, but for me, a quick, fun getaway to one of my favorite cities is all I need need to feel rejuvenated in addition to having something to look forward to the days leading up to the departure.

Coveting & Considering: Stripes

1. Aritzia // 2. Marni // 3. Tory Burch // 4. Whistles // 5. Vivienne Westwood // 6. Sandro // 7. Madewell // 8. Tory Burch
I've been told that I have too much nautical/stripes in my closet. I cant help it! I have a weakness for horizontal lines. A striped t-shirt can really spruce up the 't-shirt and jeans' look, or add some 'organized' colour to an outfit. This is why I am thrilled that shops and brands have a wide array of stripped and nautical options this season. Here are some looks that I have noticed are currently trending.

Personal Collection: Birthday Gifts Part I

{Louis Vuitton purse from my cousin}
I wanted to share with you all some items that I received for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. My friends and family are so important to me, so I was so touched when they all tried to make my day special. I am not a big birthday person but they would hear non of that, treating me to my favorite restaurants and  showering me with love (and some fun gifts). I must say, that my favorite birthday gift was a donation in my name to the Canadian Cancer Society! It brought tears to my eyes when I read my card and it said that a generous donation had been made in my name.  Well, i'll be sharing some fun gifts that I received in three parts with you, starting with these two. Can't wait to start using them!

The T.Dot Scene: The Standard

No, this is not the same Standard that can be found in Manhattan, but instead this Standard is a famous pizza and pasta bar in the heart of College St. West aka Little Italy in Toronto. This Italian eatery offers a casual ambiance, but is still a great venue for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.  The Margarita pizza was delicious, with a light thin crust and fresh basil. The crowd was trendy but relaxed and the expresso at the end of my meal exceeded my expectations!

Let's Talk: Transitional Summer Workwear

1//2//3//4//5//6//7//8
With the weather getting warmer and warmer...and warmer, I realized (as I always do this time of the year, every year) that my all black classic suits, black wrap dresses and little booties are just not going to cut it! Here are some options for maintaining a professional look for the work environment while adjusting to the temperatures:

1. Professional, light coloured suit {perfect for the boardroom}
2. Professional, light, airy shirt {Perfect substitute for the long sleeve white shirt}
3. Dainty, yet fun and trendy jewelry {Love my bold pieces, but sometimes it's too hot for a bib necklace!}
4. I love this entire look so much. It's just perfect. Enough said.
5. Yellows, have a positive psychological effect on people {maybe your boss will let you leave early?}
6. I can't live without scarves {at least you won't fry in this material}
7. Nude pumps {they are my new black for the summer}
8. Love my black DVF wrap dress {this is the same fit, but more summer appropriate}

-FOOD-
This will be the first weekend where I won't be attending a bachelorette or a birthday, so I will have extra time to try out new recipes like these apricot almond cookies and this chocolate buckwheat cake. Yum!

-SHOPPING-
Going to Zara today to purchase this clutch. One left in the store and it's on hold for me until 5pm! Although I listed some options here,  all of these require me to purchase online and frankly I just can't wait so I went with another option.

Coveting & Considering: Clutches Under 100

1. Zara // 2. Banana Republic // 3. ASOS // 4. Zara // 5. Lulu's // 6. Madewell // 7. ASOS // 8. Forever 21 // 9. Rachel Rachel Roy
Most of my friends would say that I have an lovely bag collection and when you combine mine with my sisters collection, well, let's just say that I'm not complaining. Lately though, I have decided I am going to swear off buying expensive handbags for a while. Especially since I want to invest in property and and new car soon. I do however need new clutches so I've been exporing the 'under 100' catagory. Not so say I don't have any econimical bags in my closet already...I do! But....well this is a bit of a challenge, however I am already finding stuff I love. Any suggestions?

Inspiration: Bold Lips

{Modern take on the red lips by Gary Bigeni}
Source: Napoleon Pardis

{Nothing like thick brows, red lips and a white shirt}
Source: Tumble
My daily lip colours are the lip glazes by Stila in Banana or Fruit Punch or Raspberry. Although the latter two can pack in a lot of colour, they unfortunately don't last very long. Being the lazy person I am, I cannot be bothered to constantly reapply. This is okay at work, but at for a night on the town, it is not ideal. Especially when pictures are involved. Like many women, I feel more confident when there is some colour on my lips and also like many women, I feel ultra sexy when that colour is deep red or another bold hue. My mom recently bought me a classic Chanel red lipstick and I was afraid to wear it at first because I have a fair to olive complexion (very close to a Persian tone), but surprisingly it looked decent! I felt confident, sexy, even more outgoing....funny what a transformation can occur with little bold paint on the lips!

Random Musings

1. Fruute // 2. Nature Girl // 3. Bobby Berk Home // 4. Pony Rider // 5. Urban Barn // 6. Terrain //
My mom says that I am vain because everything I own has to come in something pretty. Really mom? She claims that the local grocery store chai tastes the same as the "fancy" stuff I buy. Not true. Funny enough she walks into our local grocer with her Prada bag and loafers and says this with a straight face. But I love her so much, so it's okay! I get my love of having nice things around the house from her, but also her quest for searching for great deals and comparing prices. Here are some randoms I am currently musing that remind me of her!

The T.Dot Scene: Art & Food

I had a pretty great Friday. Although I was getting ready for my cousins bacehelorette party this weekend, I also decided to stay home from work and do something fun with a friend passing by Toronto for a day. She indicated that she wanted to do something fun but cultural and then go somewhere 'lively' for an early dinner and drinks. Most people don't know that Toronto has a Shoe Museum. Yes, you read right. It is a history of shoes! We then headed to Earls. If you are ever in Toronto, check it out. It is right beside the entertainment & theater district . It is a fun, hip, trendy bar and food scene in the heart of downtown Toronto. People of all ages (but mainly young adults) come here for a lively atmosphere and great food.

Coveting & Considering: Shades of Blush

1. Sandro // 2. Butter // 3. Gerard Yosca // 4. Madewell // 5. Burberrry // 6. Reiss // 7. H&M // 8. Miu Miu

I don't know if it's wedding season, or the pretty blushy pink flowers in my moms garden, or even the pink themed party I am attending this weekend, but I am really gushing over blushy shades of pink. I am not usually so into this shade, but I am getting more and more drawn to it as the weather gets warmer. I am always wearing white shirts, so it would be nice to switch it up with this pink Madewell shirt. Also, last year, my friends and family were harassing me about the fact that I had too many black and neutral bags, so I opted for this light pink Miu Miu bag as my next bag purchase last spring. It  has received tons of compliments and also serves as a neutral - without being black, white, or biege!

-DYI-
I am totally doing this DYI necklace. I have a bunch of old necklaces from back in the day, that could use some updating!

-FOOD-
This doughnut cake from Wednesday Chef? Hell yeah!

-SHOPPING-
I bought this necklace from the J.Crew outlet for less then half the price of the original store. It just doesn't have the last two beads on top {that's how the outlet version is} but for less then half the price, I don't care! I will post a picture of the outlet version and compare to the non-outlet version soon.

Coveting & Considering: The Colour Cleanse

1. Gucci//2. J.Crew//3. Kate Spade//4. Lulu's//5. DKNY//6. Charlotte Olympia
There are numerous fashion sites/blogs/editorials that are calling for the return of black and white. Although I too have been sinking in a sea of neons and other brights, I am still a classic girl {with a twist} at heart. I applaude those of you that can combine multiple seasonal trends in one outfit along with colour. I now know I can't. Anyway, now that the 'colour cleanse' is the next wave in style, you will be glad to know that you can STILL maintain most of the spring/summer 2012 trends even in black and white, as shown here. Good to know.

In My Closet: Harlow Neckalce

In the first week of April I blogged about coveting and considering House of Harlow 1960. I talked about how I thought the collection had the 'perfect' go to  accessories in this post here I also indicated that I would share what I considered to be the perfect statement necklace (which I purchased online) from the HOH 1960 collection with you all when it arrived. Well, it finally did a few days ago. I love this necklace so much and I am already receiving tons of compliments on it. Do any of you have a necklace that you consider the perfect statement piece?
